Paul Mendez-Patarroyo is a doctor graduated from the National University of Colombia in 1997, he is a specialist in Internal Medicine with a degree obtained from El Bosque University in 2005 and a specialist in Rheumatology with a degree obtained from the National University of Colombia in 2003. He is currently the Head of the Rheumatology section of the Fundación Santafé de Bogotá. He is the care leader of the rheumatoid arthritis clinical care center of the Santafé de Bogotá Foundation in Bogotá DC, Colombia. He is a Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá DC, Colombia. He was president of the Colombian Association of Rheumatology in the period between 2017 and 2019, leaving the legacy of the creation of study groups on more than twelve relevant topics for rheumatology. He is a member of the Rheumatoid Arthritis study group of the Colombian Association of Rheumatology. It is interested in autoimmune rheumatic pathologies, specifically in rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis, pulmonary involvement of autoimmune diseases, has participated in the elaboration of governmental clinical practice guidelines (Rheumatoid Arthritis), in the elaboration of the Colombian consensus of management indicators in rheumatoid arthritis of the high cost account and in the publications of the situation of rheumatoid arthritis in Colombia since 2016 of this same government entity in addition to participation in several scientific publications.
